Keep Your Ember RV Adventure-Ready: E-Series Maintenance Checklist

Whether you’re exploring with an E-Series or venturing off-grid with an Overland Series, regular maintenance is the best way to keep your RV safe, reliable, and ready for wherever the road takes you.
Here’s a simple guide, broken down into timeframes to help you stay on top of your RV care.
E-Series Maintenance Checklist
Every Trip
- Check operation of detectors; service if needed
- Confirm wheel lug torque and tire inflation pressure
- Confirm door latches and locks function properly
- Inspect roof and slide seals for debris or damage
- Test and confirm egress (exit) windows function properly
Monthly
- Make sure appliance burner tubes/vents are clean/unobstructed
- Confirm baggage doors seal tight and are not leaking
- Test and confirm egress (exit) windows function properly
Every 3 Months
- Test all GFI outlets
- Wash exterior with warm water & mild detergent
- Inspect sealant for voids/gaps/cracks and reseal (on exterior moldings & rooftop)
- Check plumbing hoses, fittings, pipes for leaks- tighten as required
- Check slide roof for debris and clear and check and clean seals
- Check wheel lugs for proper torque and check tire inflation pressure
- Inspect tires for wear/damage
Every 6 Months
- Lube entry door hinges w/ light oil or WD40 (or comparable)
- Adjust screen door latch
- Clean and lubricate entry steps (lithium spray)
- Apply non-abrasive wax on exterior (except on decals)
- Clean roof with water and mild detergent
- Check operation of detectors; service as needed
- Test and check fire extinguisher for proper charge
Annually
- Check appliance settings and adjust per manufacturers guide
- Clean appliances and sanitize
- Clean and lube awning moving parts w/ WD40
- Check torque on Axles/suspension – all bolts (see axle MFG guide for specs)
- Check amp draw/shoe wear/adjustment on brakes/wheel hubs and lube bearings as needed (see MFG specs)
- Test all GFI outlets
- Service generator (if equipped) per MFG manual
- Check underbelly/frame for damage, loose wires, debris, etc. and clean
- Check hitch/coupler for damage and wear; clean and lubricate (grease)
- Have LP system tested for leaks by qualified dealer
- Have LP system pressure and regulator settings checked by dealer
- Check plumbing hoses, fittings, pipes for leaks; tighten as required
- Lubricate termination gate valve cables (WD40 or lithium grease)
- Winterize system (cold weather locations)
- Clean and lube roof vent mechanisms w/ light oil
- Test and check fire extinguisher for proper charge
- Test and confirm egress (exit) windows function properly
- Check slide roof for debris and clear and check and clean seals
Before/After Storage
- Check appliance settings & adjust per manufacturers guide
- Make sure appliance burner tubes/vents are clean/unobstructed
- Clean & sanitize appliances
- Wash awning with warm water & mild detergent
- Clean & lube awning moving parts w/WD40
- Check axle/suspension U-bolts, springs & hangers for damage
- Check torque on Axles/suspension – all bolts (see axle MFG guide for specs)
- Confirm that baggage doors seal tight and are not leaking
- Test all GFI outlets
- Make sure entry door latches & locks function properly
- Lube entry door hinges w/light oil or WD40 (or comparable)

- Check frame for rust and touch up if necessary
- Check hitch/coupler for damage & wear – clean & lubricate (grease)
- Check plumbing hoses, fittings, pipes for leaks – tighten as required.
- Lubricate termination gate valve cables (WD40 or lithium grease)
- Inspect roof for sealant voids/gaps/cracks and reseal
- Clean roof with water & mild detergent
- Clean and lube roof vent mechanisms w/light oil
- Check operation of detectors; service as needed
- Check slide roof for debris and clear
- Check and clean all seals
- Check wheel lugs for proper torque
- Inspect tire for wear/damage/ect.
- Check tire inflation pressure (see tire label for pressures)
Pro Tip: These lists are the minimum requirements. If you camp in extreme heat, cold, or off-road often, you’ll want to check things more frequently.
