Trailblazer Chassis

Ember set out to blaze new trails in the RV industry. This meant that we needed to change the game when it came to one of the most important features on any unit — the foundation. Each Ember Overland and Overland Micro is built on our innovative foundation that we’ve aptly named the “Trailblazer Chassis”. There are tons of features built into our chassis that set it apart, features that we implemented with our adventurous owners in mind.

The Trailblazer Chassis is built with a tube steel construction that is different from most frames used in the RV industry. The tube steel construction is stronger than a typical I-beam frame that you would find on similar products and was necessary to accommodate our brand-new suspension system. Our independent suspension was created in partnership with Curt®. Together, we built the first American-made trailing arm independent suspension complete with dual-shocks and heavy-duty coil springs. Durable, strong shock absorbers and springs are just what the RV needs for a smoother ride for on and off-road adventures.

We didn’t stop there when it came to making our chassis one of the most off-road-ready foundations on the market today. Along with our groundbreaking suspension system and tube steel construction, we added Goodyear® Wrangler® AT Off-Road Tires with standard tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). These robust truck tires are built to go off-road and provide a more stable ride over various terrains so you can enjoy the journey as much as the destination. Want even more ways to bring along your gear? We’ve got you covered there too. Our chassis includes a frame integrated, 2-inch rear receiver that is cargo or bike rack ready. The receiver has a capacity of 300lbs. so you’ll have plenty of flexibility to bring the gear you want.

Getting to your campsite has never been easier than with the Trailblazer Chassis as your foundation. The front of the rig is outfitted with our VersaCoupler™ hitching system. Our coupler is made to move up and down in a c-channel, allowing it to fit a wider variety of tow vehicles. Added bonus, the coupler can also be removed completely to accommodate your own specialty coupler if you have the need for one.

When you arrive at camp, we’ve added an integrated parking brake system that makes stabilizing your tires simple! The parking brake is easy to use and, once in wheel lock mode, isolates motion backward and forward so your unit stays put. Our Electric HD Flat Jack™ (Overland series) is another feature on our chassis that sets us apart. It leaves the A-Frame open giving us more space to add in a gearbox where you can store more gear, batteries, and anything else you might need on the road! It also frees up the space, allowing you to lower your tailgate while still being hooked up to the RV as there’s nothing in the way! The Overland Micro Series features a marine-style front jack that rotates 90° so it can be out of your way when you need it to be.

The Trailblazer Chassis is true to its name. It’s blazing new trails with its innovative features and helping our owners blaze new trails with its robust and durable construction, giving them the peace of mind knowing that they’re on one of the strongest foundations out there.
